Biography - Dr Jacqui Bezuidenhout
Dr Jacqui Bezuidenhout is a Pediatric Developmental specialist with a special interest in Autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, Cerebral palsy and cortical visual impairment. She is currently based at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) in Johannesburg South Africa, and is a senior consultant working in the Neurodevelopmental clinic. Jacqui completed her Paediatric registrar training in 2008 and after completing the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) MSc Neurodevelopment course in 2012, realised her passion was working with children with special needs. She received the Discovery Foundation award in 2013 and began her subspeciality training in Developmental Paediatrics under the guidance of Professor Lorna Jacklin. Jacqui is a senior lecturer at Wits and is the Wits MSc Neurodevelopment coordinator as well as a co-coordinator for the Wits MSc Child life and Psychosocial care. She is an elected member of the Global Professional Education Committee for the International Alliance of Academies of Childhood disability (IAACD). She is also a board member of the Children’s Memorial Institute (CMI) and currently heads up the PR and History subcommittee. |
