Musambo Mutinta Kapapa -Biography
Musambo Mutinta Kapapa is a dedicated researcher and academic with a focus on physiotherapy and health promotion, particularly in the context of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low- and middle-income countries. She completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of the Western Cape in 2018. Her thesis, titled "Health Promotion for Non-Communicable Diseases: Perceptions of Physiotherapy and General Practitioners in the Southern Province of Zambia," explored the perceptions of physiotherapists and general practitioners regarding health promotion for NCDs. Her research revealed that while both physiotherapists and general practitioners in Zambia have a good understanding of NCDs, physiotherapists tend to have a more positive attitude towards health promotion. The study highlighted the need for policy changes to support a more holistic approach to managing NCDs and emphasized the importance of preventive care. Musambo Mutinta Kapapa's work is significant as it addresses the challenges faced in implementing effective health promotion strategies in resource-limited settings. Her research contributes to the ongoing efforts to improve healthcare management and outcomes for individuals with NCDs in Zambia and similar contexts. |
